Kashan
Kashan is the center of Kashan city in Isfahan province, which is also known as Dar Al-Momenin, the city of flowers and rose water, and the city of historical houses and monuments. Kashan's climate is divided into mountainous and desertic parts, thus leading to various weather conditions experienced in the suburban areas of this beautiful city simultaneously. There are desertic areas in the northern and eastern parts, and mountainous areas in the southern and western parts of Kashan. According to the general census of population and housing in 2016, Kashan's population was 304,487 people. People of Kashan speak Farsi, and Kashan is the most populated city of Isfahan province after the center of Isfahan itself.

Kashan, the City of Flowers and Rose Water, and the Carpet Capital of Iran
With 2,700 hectares of damask rose farms, Kashan is identified as the largest producer of damask rose and also the only city of Iran with the highest production rate of damask rose (four tons per hectare). In addition, Kashan is the largest rose water producer in the world, producing over 15,000 tons of rose water. Kashan rose water is acknowledged as the best and the most renowned rose water in the world, and these are why Kashan is known as the city of flowers and rose water. Carpet weaving is another major profession of Kashan people, and Kashan carpet, with its unique patterns and designs, has always been famous both nationwide and worldwide. This is why Kashan is also recognized as the carpet capital of Iran. Finally, Kashan is known as the city of historical houses, as one can find numerous beautiful historical houses in this city.

The Weather
Since Kashan is situated near the central desert of Iran, it is one of the cities of Iran with hot and dry climate. However, the weather is slightly milder in the high-altitude areas because of Karkas Mountain Range. The vegetation of this area is also very poor due to high temperature, and water in this area has a high level of salt due to its proximity to the desert. The average annual rainfall in Kashan is 116 mm, and the average annual temperature of this city is 28 degrees Celsius.

Kashan Tourist Attractions
Perhaps the most well-known monument in Kashan is Fin Garden, wherein Fin traditional bathroom is located. Fin garden was recorded in Iran National Heritage List in 1935, and it was also included in the list of UNESCO's International Heritage in 2010. Sialk hills are other historical attractions of Kashan which were also registered in Iran National Heritage List in 1931. Kashan has nineteen beautiful historical houses, mansions and monuments, a number of which are Tabatabaei Historical House, Borujerdi House, Abbasian Historical House, Manouchehri Traditional House, Ehsan Historical House, Yasin Historical House, Agha Bozorg Mosque and School, Bazaar of Kashan, Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse, Khaje Taj od-Din mausoleum and Jameh Mosque of Kashan. In Kashan, 1,700 historical monuments have been identified, of which 333 are nationally registered and one is globally registered. Soleymaniyeh Fountain in Kashan is one of the most beautiful natural attractions of this city, located in the southeastern part of Fin Garden. Among other natural resorts of Kashan and its suburbs are Niasar Waterfall in the historical city of Niaser, Darreh Village and Kashan rooftop.

Foods and Souvenirs of Kashan
Of all the traditional foods of Kashan, the following are most famous: Goosht Loobia, Shefteh, Gheymeh Rizeh, Koofteh Choghondar, meat with lentils and eggplants, mixture of grape syrup and vinegar, Goosht Kalam Kadoo, Adas Polo (lentil with rice and raisin), Eshkeneh, and meat with peas and spinach. Abgoosht-e Loobia is also known as Goosht Loobia and Abgoosht-e Sefid. Kashan sweets such as cookies, Baklava, Mirzahosseini Sohan, tahini halva, and grape syrup with tahini are souvenirs and traditional snacks of this city. Kashan has always been well-known for its rose water worldwide; however, other herbal distillates such as pussy willow, mint, chicory, alhagi, cardamom, fenugreek, cinnamon, and dill distillates are also produced in this city. The principal handicraft of the people of Kashan is Kashan carpet which is famous worldwide, and other handicrafts include tile artwork, pottery work, ornamental plastering, brickwork, Gereh Chini (Islamic geometric patterns on tile using strapwork or girih), carpet design drawing, Zari Bafi (gold lace artwork), velvet weaving, Ziloo weaving, Giveh weaving, carpet repairing, dyeing, felt (Namad rug) making, copper artwork, perforation artwork, and marquetry artwork. 

Life in Kashan
Kashan is the second largest and most populated city of Isfahan which thanks to its pivotal role in the fields of economy and tourism, as well as its large size, is likely to become a province in near future.  Kashan's weather is typically moderate in autumn and winter. It is one of the most historical cities of Iran, and the historical houses and monuments have made this city spectacular. Also, as there are small and large industrial workshops and major factories such as Barij Essence in Kashan, it is an economically important city. Kashan people's unique customs, their hospitality and the availability of adequate welfare, medical and educational facilities as well as shopping centers make Kashan an ideal place to live, and the average rent of a seventy-meter house in Kashan in 2023 is 5,800,000 Tomans per month.

Transportation
Kashan National Airport is one of the oldest airports of Iran which operates two flights a week to Mashhad. Kashan is connected to the country's railway network through Kashan Central Railway Station, and the high-speed train station project at Kashan railway station is underway. Also, intra-city and intercity buses carry out passenger transportation, and line and internet taxis are other methods of urban transportation in Kashan.

Kashan has several universities and educational centers, among which are University of Kashan, Islamic Azad University of Kashan, Kashan University of Medical Sciences, Payame Noor University of Kashan, Shahid Rajaei University of Kashan, Ayatollah Yasrebi University Campus, Kashan Farhangian University, Sina University of Applied Sciences, and Allameh Feiz Kashani University of Applied Sciences.
